Greenchoice is een van de energieleveranciers die is toegetreden tijdens de liberalisering van de energiemarkt. Dertig procent van de aandelen zijn in handen van Eneco. Greenchoice levert uitsluitend groene stroom en gas. De CO2 uitstoot van het gas wordt gecompenseerd. De klant kan zelf kiezen hoe het gecompenseerd wordt. De CO2 uitstoot kan gecompenseerd worden via boscompensatie of investeringen in duurzame energievoorzieningen in ontwikkelingslanden. Zelf opwekken en terugleveren van energie wordt ook gestimuleerd. Nuon is een nutsbedrijf dat energie levert in Nederland. Sinds de liberalisering van de energiemarkt in België is Nuon ook daar begonnen met het leveren van energie. Oxxio is een energie leverancier die actief meewerkt om op een efficiente manier om te gaan met energie. Zo leverd Oxxio alleen groene stroom tegen een scherpe prijs. Met de Oxxio energiemanager krijgt u grip op uw energieverbruik. Oxxio luistert goed naar reacties van klanten om de dienstverleng nog beter te maken. Vanaf 2010 zal Oxxio zijn eigen energie gaan produceren op de Vondelingenplaat in het Rijnmondgebied bij Rotterdam.
